Chris Weidman injured and out of fight against Vitor Belfort at UFC 184

Champion suffered an injury during his training and was cut from the card in February; Ronda x Zingano is the new main event

The fate seems to have no end. For the third time in less than a year, the duel between Vitor belfort e Chris Weidman for the middleweight belt was cancelled.

The champion Chris Weidman suffered an injury during his training and will not be able to face Vitor at UFC 184, on February 28th. The new main fight on the card will be Ronda Rousey x Zingano cat for the women's bantamweight belt, the former co-main event of the night.

The information was released by the North American website “MMA Junkie”. According to the publication, sources close to Weidman have already confirmed that he is indeed injured. The order of the injury suffered by the American, however, was not reported.

At the beginning of last year, the duel between Weidman and Belfort, initially scheduled for May 2014, was suspended due to the Brazilian's problems with the new regulations for Testosterone Replacement Treatment (TRT). In September, it was Weidman's turn to be unable to fight, after suffering an injury to his hand, which made it impossible for him to fight at UFC 181, in December.

At 30, Chris Weidman has a professional record of 12 wins in 12 fights. Weidman won the middleweight belt by beating Anderson Silva in July 2013 and defended the title twice: again against Anderson and then against fellow Brazilian Lyoto Machida.

Yes, Vitor belfort, 37 years old, has a professional record of 24 wins and ten losses. The “Phenomenon” comes from three consecutive victories, over Michael Bisping, Luke Rockhold e Dan Henderson, but hasn't fought since November 2013.

So far, there is no information about a possible rescheduling of the belt fight between Belfort and Weidman for a future event.
