Conor McGregor was a confident and relaxed man at the UFC Fight Night 59 press conference, which was held moments after his dominant victory over Dennis Siver last Sunday (18). The Irishman, who was drinking a glass of whiskey while talking to journalists, was restrained in a good-humored way by UFC president, Dana White, who joked about the fighter's alcoholic state.

Even so, McGregor assured that he is serious when he promises to dominate the featherweight division. Right after knocking out Siver, the fighter went after the category champion, José Aldo, who watched the fight from the stands. Asked about the subject, McGregor explained what was going through his mind. “I only saw the head of that skinny Brazilian and decided to go for it. People thought I was going to see my girlfriend… They thought I was a romantic guy! But I wanted to kill that little Brazilian. I only saw that skinny Brazilian guy. They all look smaller than me. I looked at him and he looked like those skinny Brazilians from the favela. The same happened with Diego [Brandão], who looked like he had the body of a 12-year-old boy. When we collide, he will fall,” he commented.

White stated that the fight between McGregor and Aldo should take place in May, in Las Vegas (USA), contrary to the Irishman's desire to fight for the title in a football stadium in Dublin. Even so, the “Notório” did not let himself be discouraged. “A stadium fight would be like a dream for me, but I'm happy with Las Vegas. I'm happy to go to Las Vegas, and another head will be collected. All these guys think I'm a joke, but I'm not here to joke. I said I would clear the division towards the top, and now there’s just one guy left.”

McGregor predicts his fight against Aldo will set new popularity benchmarks for the UFC. “This is the beginning of the McGregor era, and the McGregor era is going to break records. I've been breaking records since I arrived [at UFC], so with pay-per-view it won't be any different. UFC 178 [the event in which he faced Poirier] sold more than Aldo x Mendes. I am well aware that McGregor equals money. We will break records in this fight,” he promised.
