Jon Jones takes aim at Cain Velasquez and projects: 'My plan is to be the greatest of all time'

After beating Daniel Cormier at UFC 182, light heavyweight champion wants to fight the heavyweight titleholder

Jon Jones proved why he is the leader of the UFC's weight-for-pound rankings. In another great performance, the light heavyweight champion defended his belt against Daniel Cormier in the main fight of UFC 182, an event held in the early hours of this Sunday (04), in Las Vegas, United States. After the clash against one of his biggest rivals, 'Bones', as he is known, plans are ambitious: to become the greatest MMA fighter in history.

“My plan is to be the greatest fighter of all time… I believe and I'm working hard to make that happen. 2015 will be the year that I establish myself as the best MMA fighter in history”, said Jones, who then recalled his friend's trajectory Anderson Silva.

With eight light heavyweight title defenses, Jones once again expresses his desire to move up to the heavyweight division and is already targeting a possible opponent: Cain Velazquez, category champion and training partner Daniel Cormier.

At 27 years old and with a professional record of 20 wins and just one defeat – by disqualification – Jon Jones is taking great strides towards becoming the greatest in history. In addition to having the longest series of consecutive title defenses, he is two fights away from equaling the record of Anderson Silva with 10 title defenses.
