This Saturday (03), just over five years after his debut in professional MMA, Daniel Cormier will have the most important fight of his career. On that date, “DC”, as he is known, faces Jon Jones at UFC 182 for the light heavyweight title of the biggest organization on the planet. The undefeated challenger's trajectory, however, began in another category and in a different event.

In September 2009, after two Olympic experiences and two bronzes at the World Cup, wrestling, Cormier debuted in MMA, beating Gary Frazier in the second round, in Strikeforce – an organization that would later be incorporated into the UFC. From then on, there were 14 more victories for Daniel, who won the heavyweight GP of the now defunct event and overcame renowned names in the sport, such as Josh Barnett, Antonio Pezão, Frank mir e Dan Henderson.
Cormier's history was raised by the UFC organization and commented on by the fighter himself, in a video released on the event's official channel on YouTube.
