“Vitor has been in camp for almost a year, preparing, dieting and adapting his body and he is doing very well. The guy trains a lot! I'll tell you that he's the first to arrive at the gym and the last to leave. When training ends, he keeps doing series and training a lot. He already has a 20-year career and is a source of motivation for us. He’s doing very well and I’m sure he’ll bring this belt back to us”, commented the TUF Brazil 1 champion.

Asked about the specific preparation of “Phenomenon” for Weidman and his wrestling high level, Mutante was excited. “The preparation is 100%, we have many wrestlers there at the gym. We have Rashad (Evans, former UFC champion), the Anthony Johnson, who is a very tough guy… So everything is being very well studied and prepared. He’s not going to surprise, but rather show what everyone knows he always does, he’s going to get in there and kick ass,” he guaranteed.

At 37, Vitor belfort has a professional record of 24 wins and ten losses. The “Phenomenon”, as he is known, comes from three consecutive victories, over Michael Bisping, Luke Rockhold e Dan Henderson, and will be the next challenger for the middleweight belt. Belfort stares Chris Weidman on February 28, 2015, in Los Angeles (USA), in the main fight of UFC 184.
