Lyoto's namesake loses, but Brazilians do well on the UFC Barueri preliminary card

TUF Brasil 3 finalist ended up being beaten by Tim Means; Marcos Pezão, Vitor Miranda and Renato Moicano shine in the opening program

However, already in the preliminary card, another 'Lyoto' came into action and ended up defeated. Marcio Alexandre, who became known on TUF Brasil 3 as Marcio Lyoto – due to his fighting style similar to that of the former light heavyweight champion – he was close to a knockout, but ended up being overcome by Tim means.

The Santa Catarina's defeat was the only one involving Brazilians in the opening program. In the other five fights, the home athletes had five victories. Highlight for the great knockouts of Vitor miranda e Marcos Foot and the debutant's beautiful finish Renato Moicano.

Marcio Lyoto loses second in UFC

Finalist of TUF Brasil 3, Marcio Lyoto entered the octagon in search of rehabilitation, after losing the final of the reality show to Warlley alves. In front of the North American Tim means, the Brazilian had difficulty finding distance in the first round and ended up suffering from some attacks from his rival.

In the second round, Means continued to be better at the beginning, but when he tried to take down the Brazilian, he ended up kneeing Marcio in the face, who was in three supports. With the illegal blow, the Santa Catarina native had five minutes to recover and the North American began to provoke the Brazilian fans in the gym.

When the fight resumed, Lyoto returned irritated and with a kick to the head almost achieved a knockout. He took the American to a knockdown and threw several blows on top. But Means managed to recover, reverse the position and finish the partial on top.

In the third round, with the duel practically tied, Marcio Lyoto felt the physical fitness. Already tired, he was unable to repeat his good moments in the previous round. Tim means took advantage, managed to land good blows and prevail in the judges' split decision (29×28, 28×29, 29×28).

Vitor Miranda and Marcos Pezão achieve beautiful knockouts

Se Marcio Lyoto failed to win, two other TUF Brasil 3 semifinalists put on a show. First athlete in the country to climb into the octagon, Vitor miranda managed to recover from the defeat in the heavyweight grand final and knocked out Jake collier.

After dropping two categories, Vitor fought well at middleweight. He began by being knocked down by the American, but managed to get up and in the final moments of the first round connect with a beautiful right kick to his rival's head. Collier felt it and with three more punches he achieved the knockout.

Faster than Miranda was Marcos Foot. The TUF Brazil 3 semi-finalist, also a heavyweight, came down from the light heavyweight division and was quick on the trigger to knock out Igor Pokrajac.

Pezão, who had achieved his first UFC victory in 20 seconds, needed less than two minutes to knock out his Croatian rival. With a powerful cross, the Brazilian knocked down his rival and settled the score with punches from above

Moicano debuts on the right foot

Called at short notice to replace Ron Jason, the Brazilian Renato Moicano, 25 years old, looked like a veteran in the Octagon. Facing Tom Niinimaki, the Brazilian showed evolution in boxing to dominate the first round and finish the fight in the second round with his specialty; jiu-jitsu.

After getting a takedown, he moved to mount and quickly got to the back to lock in the rear naked choke and finish the fight.
