The point is that Nurmagomedov beat Dos Anjos himself in his last fight, in April. Precisely for this reason, the athlete considers that the change in positions does not have much significance.

“Everyone knows who the number one lightweight contender is. 2015 will be my year. Like it or not, I’m coming,” wrote Nurmagomedov on his Twitter, alongside several photos of his victory over the Brazilian.

Nurmagomedov hasn't fought since April, as he suffered a knee injury that took him out of action. Dos Anjos won three victories after losing to the Russian, beating Jason High, Ben henderson e Nate diaz. Precisely for this reason, UFC president Dana White confirmed that the Brazilian will be the next to challenge the division champion, Anthony Pettis, as Nurmagomedov has not yet fully recovered from his injury.
