The atmosphere was heavy in Phoenix (USA) during the UFC on FOX 13 weigh-in, this Friday (13). Several tense confrontations marked the event, starting with the main fight of the night. After passing through the scale, the Brazilian Junior Gypsy he looked like he had few friends and received a fixed look from his opponent Stipe Miocic, during the traditional pose.

On balance, Cigano and Miocic had similar results. Returning after more than a year of inactivity, the Brazilian weighed 109,7 kg, around half a kilo below the North American of Croatian descent, who weighed 110,2 kg. Respectively placed second and fourth in the heavyweight rankings, Cigano and Miocic will face a duel that could define the next challenger for the belt, after the unification between Cain Velazquez e Fabricio Werdum.

Known for his controversial and intimidating style, Nate diaz was unsuccessful in its usual strategy against Rafael dos Anjos. After losing weight by almost three kilos and weighing 72,8 kg, the North American tried to impose himself on the Brazilian, who weighed 70,7 kg, in a face-off, but ended up receiving a slap on the hand in response. The two have the co-main fight of the night.

One of the hottest moments of the weigh-in was, without a doubt, the face-off between Claudinha gadelha e Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Aware that a victory this Saturday (13) could represent a chance for the new strawweight belt, the two had a tense confrontation after passing the scales and weighing 52,6 kg. The duo even came down from the stage set up at the US Airways Center exchanging threats.

Although there is no confirmation from Ultimate, it is expected that the winner of the duel between Gadelha and Jedrzejczyk will be the first challenger for the strawweight belt, whose inaugural champion will be defined in the duel between Rose namajunas e Carla esparza, at the TUF 20 Finale, this Friday night (12).
