Almost seven years later, the paths of Fabricio Werdum e junior gypsy may cross paths again. The Santa Catarina team will face Stipe Miocic this Saturday (13), in the main fight of UFC on FOX 13, and, if he wins, he will be able to fight for the heavyweight belt again against the winner of the fight between Werdum and Cain Velazquez, which should unify the category title in June. If it goes ahead, the fight would be a rematch of the 2008 meeting, when Cigano won by knockout.

Precisely for this reason, Werdum left hypocrisy aside when commenting on the fight between Cigano and Miocic. The interim UFC champion said that, as he sees Cigano as a potential rival for the future, he is not rooting for the Brazilian. “It’s going to be a war. Miocic is doing very well and Cigano is eager to win. I can't come here and lie, saying that I'm supporting Cigano. There is no way to. Just because he's Brazilian? I can't say that because I would be lying. We are opponents, we are in the same category. I have nothing, zero, against Cigano, but I think it will be a tough fight”, commented Werdum, in an interview with the “ESPN” broadcaster website.

Werdum, who also serves as a commentator on official UFC broadcasts in Spanish, gave his opinion on Saturday's fight. “I see this fight in two ways: Cigano knocking out in the first or second rounds, and, from the third, Miocic winning on points”, he said.
