One of the biggest stars in the UFC bantamweight division, Urijah faber lives in a kind of “limbo” at the current stage of his career. Third placed in the official ranking of his category, the North American is far from a title shot, as the current champion, TJ Dillashaw, is your training partner on the Alpha Male team. However, Faber has at least one plan he wants to fulfill before hanging up his gloves: he wants to face his old nemesis once again. Dominick Cruz.

Faber and Cruz have already faced each other twice, with one victory for each side. The “California Kid” stated that he has a feeling for his compatriot that is very different from what he has in relation to other old acquaintances. “This [Cruz] is a guy I don’t like. José Aldo e Renan Barao They're nice guys, but Cruz is an idiot. I would like to put my fist in his chin at least one more time before I retire”, said Faber, in an interview with “SporTV”.
The North American, who has already been defeated three times by Nova União athletes (twice against Barão and once against Aldo) said he admires the Brazilian fighters, although he recognizes that the rivalry between the Rio and North American gyms will be lasting. “Particularly, I really like the Nova União fighters and the coach, André Pederneiras. But we have a very healthy and competitive rivalry. I know some of my guys don't like some of the guys there and vice versa, but we're going to have that rivalry because we're two of the best teams in the world,” he concluded.
Faber returns to the UFC Octagon this weekend, at UFC 181, when he will face Francisco Rivera in the last fight on the attraction's preliminary card.
