Wanderlei Silva announced its retirement from MMA, in September, and started a real battle against the UFC. After making several criticisms of the biggest MMA event in the world, the Brazilian made a point appearance with autograph session at Bellator, Ultimate's biggest competitor. But he was stopped by a contractual clause he still has with his former contractor.

With a 'thick mustache', Wand joined the campaign, which seeks to raise public awareness about prostate cancer in the month of November in the United States. He complained about being prevented from working, even though he was, according to him, retired.

“They (Bellator) would give me $10 for two hours of autograph signing. This was on a Saturday. On Thursday, I received an email saying that if I went to this other event I would be sued by the old event (UFC), because I still have a signed contract with them. But, what do you mean, you have a contract with a guy who is retired”, asked Wand.

“So I can’t work anymore? I can't live off the image that I built with blood, with sweat, with determination and with race, with everything you saw. They've already made a lot of money behind my back. Are you going to pay me for this? Are they going to knock on my door and ask if I need this money to live? If I have any bills to pay? Do you want to have me under contract and not pay me anything? You want to use my name for life, until the end of your life, not even my son can use my name, you want to use Wanderlei Silva until the end and they won't pay me anything for it? You are above the law! There is the law where every person is free to come and go. You don’t want to give this freedom to the athlete”, added Crazy Dog

Still in the video, which you can see below, Wanderlei also shoots directly against UFC policy. The former Pride champion recalled the recent drop in profits of the company that controls Ultimate.

“I just learned that the biggest event in the world had a 40% drop. See? If they don't start sharing the profit, don't start giving the athlete better conditions, it's going to end, people! The 'tittie' is drying out! Nowadays, one comes in, another comes in, the guys are earning little, everyone is sour about the event, no one showing that honor, that dignity and that glory of coming in to fight, because we are being treated anyway”, he declared. .
