Russian fighter Magomedrasul Khasbulaev made serious accusations against Bellator, whom he accused of deliberately harming him so as not to obtain a visa to enter the United States before fighting for the organization's featherweight belt at the beginning of the year.

Khasbulaev, winner of the featherweight GP in 2013 with three victories, would challenge the champion of the 66 kg division, Pat Curran. However, the Russian had his visa application denied, so the fight never took place. “Frodo”, as he is known, used his account on Twitter to shoot the organization's former administrators, especially Bjorn Rebney, former president, and Sam Caplan, former matchmakers.

“I found out that s***s Sam Caplan and Bjorn Rebney did something horrible to me. They stole two years of my life. The embassy said you withdrew my application for a visa before the fight with Curran. I have all the documents and I'm going to the press to show them. You certainly didn’t want a Russian champion who barely speaks English”, accused the fighter, using other profanity.

In an interview with the “MMA Insiders” podcast, Caplan defended himself against the accusations. “The accusations he leveled against me, at least the ones he leveled against me, are 100% false. I have documentation that shows this. I have emails that show that there was communication, as I asked questions, asked for news regarding 'Frodo' Khasbulaev and his visa denial. The claim that Bjorn and I withdrew their visa application because we didn't want a Russian champion is ridiculous. If we didn’t want a Russian as champion, we wouldn’t have signed so many fighters from that country,” he explained.

Despite the accusations, Khasbulaev stated that Bellator's current management, especially new president Scott Coker, is helping him with this matter.
