MMA has several examples of athletes who overcome their own body's limits to achieve impressive results and the next candidate for the role of champion of overcoming in the sport is called Matt Betzold and he has a new home. The organization of Legacy FC, one of the main events in the USA, announced the hiring of Betzold, who has part of his left leg amputated.

The announcement of the deal with the flyweight fighter was made by the president of Legacy, Mick Maynard, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”. “I want you to know that we signed Matt Betzold to a multi-fight contract. His first fight with us will be on February 27th, in Houston, against an opponent yet to be decided”, said the director.
With the agreement with Legacy, Betzold becomes yet another amputee athlete to stand out in a major event in the United States. Before him, lightweight Nick Newell, who is missing part of his arm due to a congenital disease, disembarked at World Series of Fighting undefeated and even competed for the title of the category up to 70,3 kg Organization.
At 31 years old, Matt Betzold has a professional record of six wins and three losses. The flyweight is an athlete on the Team Alpha Male team, in which he is teammates with important names in the sport, such as Joseph Benavidez, Urijah faber and the UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw. Betzold has won four consecutive victories, all by submission.
