Nick Diaz didn't take kindly to his former rival's comments Georges St Pierre about his next fight, which will be against Anderson Silva, and retorted the Canadian's words.
The former UFC welterweight champion had stated that Diaz made a mistake in accepting the fight against Silva in the middleweight division, and that, instead, he should have agreed to the fight at a combined weight. The American was irritated by the suggestion and stated that GSP has no right to make any type of comment on the matter, since, according to Diaz, he himself avoided facing Anderson because he was afraid.
“The thing about old Georges is that he’s not the one who’s going to fight, right? He didn't accept the fight. He could just say a few things and get the fight, simple as that. But he didn't want this fight. He was scared of fighting, he's scared of fighting at 84 kg and he thinks we have a lot in common and that maybe I shouldn't fight at 84 kg. What the f*** does he know? Maybe I have more difficulty making weight than old Georges. I'm going [to the weigh-in] f***ing thin. That’s why I had to fight this fight at 84 kg”, said Diaz, in an interview with the podcast “The MMA Hour”.

Despite usually fighting a division below, Diaz says that everything will be under control as long as both athletes make the same weight. “The fact is that we will both get there and I will be much smaller. If I tried to fight at a combined weight and my opponent decided not to make weight, then I would have a real problem. As far as I know, Anderson Silva It always weighs in,” he said.
