This Saturday (15), Fabricio Werdum e Mark Hunt will face each other at UFC 180 to decide who will be the interim champion of the heavyweight division. Even in this situation, the linear champion of the category, Cain Velazquez, who is unable to fight due to injury, is not bothered, as he does not consider the interim title to be the real one.

“It’s the interim belt. That's how I see the situation. He's not the real champion. We're going to fight for the real belt later on. So, I don't think about it much. When I get my chance to fight, we will fight for the real belt”, said the American of Mexican descent, in a press conference broadcast on the websites “MMA Fighting” and “FOX Sports”.

And Velasquez guaranteed that the fight that will unify the belts will take place in Mexico, in the same place where Werdum and Hunt will face each other. “They want me back. My return will happen here,” he said.

Velasquez has owned the heavyweight belt since December 2012, when he beat junior gypsy. Since then, he has defended the belt twice: against Antonio Pezão and Gypsy himself. However, some injuries took the champion out of action for more than a year, and UFC president, Dana White, threatened to strip Velasquez of the belt if he was unable to defend it by March 2015.
