Dillashaw expresses desire to face Aldo: 'I really want this fight'

The bantamweight champion, however, hopes that Cub Swanson will be the next challenger for the featherweight title

UFC bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw He is proving to be an ambitious athlete. This is because the North American expressed his desire to challenge José Aldo for the featherweight division belt, the category immediately above which he normally operates.

Normally outspoken, Dillashaw this time adopted a respectful tone to challenge the Brazilian, although he emphasized that he really wants the fight to happen.

“I really want to face Aldo, man. I will beat Aldo. I want to fight him,” Dillashaw said on the “Team Alpha Male Radio” podcast, produced by the team where he trains. “I respect him, he’s an incredible fighter.”

Even so, Dillashaw recognizes that the fight won't get off the ground anytime soon, as Aldo will have to face the winner of Frankie Edgar e Cub swanson. And the bantamweight champion already has his fans defined. “I hope Swanson wins. I like Edgar as a fighter, but Swanson is a really cool guy and his striking has improved a lot,” he predicted.

Dillashaw is expected to make his next belt defense – his second – against the former champion Dominick Cruz on a date to be defined. It was the North American who beat Aldo's training partner Renan Barao from the position of champion; Aldo, in turn, has already won three fights against Dillashaw's colleagues: two against Chad Mendes and one against Urijah faber.
