In a provocative tone, Kennedy advises Shogun: 'Terrible idea to go down to middleweight'

North American said that sharks in the 84 kg division will eat the Curitiba native alive if he chooses to change

After suffering his second consecutive defeat and fourth in five fights last Saturday (08), when he was knocked out by Ovince St Preux at UFC Uberlândia, the Brazilian Mauritius Shogun He took to social media to vent and revealed that he was considering changing categories. The Brazilian's statement, however, prompted a curious reaction from middleweight Tim Kennedy. Through your profile on Twitter, Kennedy, in a provocative tone, advised Shogun not to move down to the 84 kg division.

“Someone tells Shogun that it’s a TERRIBLE idea to move down to middleweight. It’s a complete shark tank around here and we’re going to eat him alive”, said the ex-soldier on the microblogging network. Kennedy's comment, acidic as usual, provoked mixed reactions from fans. While some had fun with the joke, others came to Shogun's defense and even used the North American's recent defeat to Yoel romero to give change.

At 35 years old, Tim Kennedy has a professional record of 18 wins and five losses. Former challenger for the now-defunct Strikeforce belt, Kennedy currently occupies seventh place in the UFC's official middleweight rankings. Already Mauritius Shogun, 32 years old, has a record of 22 wins and ten losses. In his last five fights, the former UFC light heavyweight and PRIDE middleweight GP champion only beat New Zealander James Te Huna, in December of last year.
