Wanderlei Silva he once again fired shots at UFC officials and criticized the situation in which fighters contracted by the largest MMA organization on the planet find themselves. In a new video released on his YouTube channel, the retired fighter once again stated that athletes are the true stars of the sport and, therefore, should receive better treatment from their employers.

Even without mentioning any names throughout the video, Wand made clear attacks on UFC officials. "Who are you? You're the guy who sets up the octagon, who sets up the lights, who does the advertising. It's not you who puts your face on there. You can't say anything, you can't talk about the warrior. The one who gives the blood is the one who can talk about blood. You’re a fop”, said the former PRIDE champion. “But that will change. If it doesn't change, you [leaders] yourself will feel it in the part that hurts the most, which isn't your heart, because you don't have a heart: it's in your pocket. This is the only place that hurts you.”

The Brazilian said that athletes who are currently contracted by the UFC cannot fight for better conditions to avoid putting their jobs at risk. Therefore, he defends the end of the UFC's monopoly over its fighters. “Who will tell the truth? If the guy tells the truth, he gets fired on the spot. And? With this monopoly, the guy has nowhere to run. We have to open the game, free the fighters. We have to free fighters to fight wherever they want, not just for one organization,” he continued. “I'm here to fight for our rights. Unfortunately, I won't be able to reap the rewards of what I'm asking for, but I'm standing up for sport, for a cause. If we don’t stand up, who will stand up for us?”, he asked.

Finally, Wanderlei once again used the UFC featherweight champion, José Aldo, who constantly publicly complains about the salary he receives in the organization. “One of the best pound-for-pound fighters, who just defended his belt, who fought unhappy with what he was winning, filled the Maracanãzinho [in the fight against Chad Mendes]. Everyone paying pay-per-view. How much did this event not generate based on this fight? And he wasn’t satisfied with what he was getting,” he continued.

At 38 years of age, Wanderlei Silva recently retired from MMA after getting involved in a big mess with a drug test in the first semester. The fighter, who would face Chael Sonnen in July, he refused to take a surprise exam required by the Nevada Athletic Commission because, at the time, he was taking diuretics to correct an injury. The substance is prohibited by anti-doping regulations.

As a result, Wand was banned for life from fighting under the supervision of the Nevada Commission, which includes the city of Las Vegas, the main fighting city in the United States.
