Star of the UFC 179 co-main fight, Glover Teixeira keep in mind what strategy to defeat Phil Davis in Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian, former challenger for the light heavyweight belt, considers it essential to nullify the North American's wrestling game, as this is his rival's main weapon.

“I have to cancel out his wrestling, because if I don't do it, I'm going to lose. But I trained a lot for this. I believe a lot in my jiu-jitsu and I believe there will be no way out of it, no. Sooner later that hand will come in and he will fall”, said Glover, in a press interview in Rio de Janeiro in an excerpt published by the website “Portal do Vale Tudo”.

To date, Davis has won every fight he has had against Brazilians, beating Rogério Minotouro, Wagner Caldeirão, Vinny Magalhães and Lyoto Machida. As a result, the North American suggested that his nickname be changed to “Matador de Brasileiros”, which Teixeira hopes to prevent this weekend. “The only way to change this is for me to get out there and stop. For now, he's beating all the Brazilians, he's a really tough guy, but I'm going to stop that with a knockout”, he concluded.
