“All Korean men, if physically capable, must perform military service. So it wasn't a surprise. I was hoping I could hold off a little longer so I could have one more fight since my wife and I are expecting our first child. But I'm proud of my duty”, explained Jung, in an interview with the UFC's official website.

At 27 years of age, Chan sung jung He arrived at the UFC in 2011, along with other fighters from the now-defunct WEC event. The South Korean won three victories, against just one defeat, this one in the fight for the UFC featherweight belt against José Aldo, in August last year.
