Chael Sonnen he was the protagonist of one of the biggest doping scandals in the recent history of MMA. The North American was caught twice with banned substances in the middle of this year, close to his fight at UFC 175, and, as a result, he received a two-year suspension and announced his retirement from the sport.

However, anyone who thinks that Sonnen is sorry about what happened is mistaken. In fact, the former fighter said that he does not intend to apologize because he was aware of all the risks he was taking with the actions he took. "People ask 'why doesn't he say he's sorry?' I do not feel. I won't apologize because I don't regret it. I'm an adult, I knew exactly what I was doing. It was a premeditated decision,” explained Sonnen in the first edition of his podcast, called “You're Welcome!˜.

The North American said he only decided to take banned substances because they made him feel better on a daily basis. “The problem is that it works. The problem is that it helps. In fact, this is all medicine, and medicine exists to make you feel better. Nobody goes to the doctor and asks to take something that makes you worse. I was taking things that made me feel better. I took something, I got caught, I got stained and that’s it,” he concluded.
