Wanderlei Silva announced, surprisingly, his retirement from MMA and received fan support even from former rivals. The North American Quinton Rampage Jackson, who has already faced the Brazilian on three occasions, used social media to show respect and admiration for his former opponent.

“Even when we were enemies in the ring, I was your number 1 fan. I'm with you on this and share the same sentiment. #WarWand”, he posted Rampage, on his Twitter account along with the photo with the words of the hashtag.

Wanderlei Silva e Rampage they made one of the most memorable trilogies in MMA history. In the first two fights, held at the now-defunct PRIDE, in Japan, the Brazilian knocked out his rival always in the same way: with knees. In the first clash, in 2013, 'Crazy Dog' won the final of the GP under 93 kg. In 2008, the North American achieved his first and only triumph by knocking out the Paraná native at UFC 92.
