Brazilian Gesias Cavalcante, who was prevented from facing Japanese Shinya Aoki at Yarennoka because he was recovering from knee surgery, spoke to the press during a press conference held today in Japan.
“First of all, I'm very sad and upset about the fact that I can't fight. I know how hard I was training and how difficult it is to change opponents. I'm here to apologize to Aoki and all the fans. I'm doing my best to recover. I want to go back. I’m a professional and that’s what I love to do,” said Gesias.
Despite being disappointed with the Brazilian's withdrawal, Japanese Aoki doesn't have much time to regret it, as he remains on the card for the event on the 31st and should have a new opponent announced in the coming days.
