PRIDE idol, Shogun is UFC's special guest for event in Japan

The fighter will follow the card headlined by Roy Nelson x Mark Hunt and recorded the trip through his Instagram profile

for years, Mauritius Shogun He was one of the most beloved Brazilian fighters in Japan, during the golden years of the now-defunct PRIDE event. Champion of the organization's middleweight Gran Prix in 2005, the Curitiba native will have the chance to relive some of his moments in the Japanese rings, at the invitation of Ultimate. The organization invited the Brazilian to UFC Fight Night 52, which takes place this Saturday (20) at the Saitama Super Arena, and Shogun made a point of recording his satisfaction at returning to the country where he shone.

“Visiting the Brazilian embassy in Japan, in Tokyo! The affection with which I was received here was really cool. A piece of Brazil in a country that has always welcomed me with so much affection, has many ties with our country and has such a large Brazilian community”, wrote the fighter on his official profile on Instagram, along with a photo of you in front of the Brazilian flag at the embassy.

On that date, the former Ultimate light heavyweight champion returns to the octagon in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 56 ​​against Nigerian-English Jimi Manuwa. The event takes place at Ginásio Sabiazinho, in Uberlândia (MG).
