The second half of March was marked by different feelings for John hendricks. After winning the welterweight belt on the 15th of that month, the new champion underwent biceps surgery and has been out of action ever since. With places in all the main Ultimate events filled by the end of January next year, Hendricks' manager, Ted Ehrhardt, believes that his athlete should only return in February 2015, when he will complete 11 months without stepping into the Octagon.

“The last thing the UFC wanted was to start promoting a fight and have to postpone it if Johny had a repeat offense. He's well past that point now, but the schedule is full. He's a main event fighter and all the main events are busy. It looks like he's going to fight sometime in February,” said Ehrhardt, in an interview with the website of the North American channel “ESPN”.
