Protagonist of the main fight of UFC Brasilia, this Saturday (13), Antonio Pezão He also stole the show during the event's open training sessions, held this Thursday (11) in a shopping mall in the federal capital. Quite relaxed, the heavyweight made a point of asking the organization for his exhibition training to be carried out to the sound of the band “Aviões do Forró”.
Between strikes and jiu-jitsu movements, Pezão even tried some dance steps, even when he was still on the ground working out the last details of his preparation. After training, the heavyweight explained the request. “I chose forró to cheer me up. We get so tense with the adrenaline of the fight and the forró helps a little. I, who really like forró and grew up in the land of this rhythm, really like it”, he commented.
In the crowd, the heavyweight's parents also enjoyed the rhythm
But anyone who thinks that it was only Pezão who enjoyed the sound of forró during open training is mistaken. The fighter's parents, Lourdes and Antônio Silva, also attended the event, enjoyed the rhythm and even rehearsed a dance. The fighter's family lived in Brasília for many years before moving to Campina Grande (PB), Pezão was even born in the federal capital.
On Saturday (13th), Antonio Pezão faces Andrei Arlovski in the main event of UFC Fight Night 51, also known as UFC Brasilia. Before that, however, starting at 16pm this Friday (12), Pezão and the other athletes on the card have an appointment with the scales at the event's official weigh-in.
