Looking for his fourth win in a row, Lucas Mineiro faces Darren Elkins at UFC Rio 5

Undefeated since January 2013, when he suffered his only career defeat, at featherweight lucas mineiro They already know who their opponent will be in search of their fourth consecutive victory. On its official website, the Ultimate organization confirmed that Lucas will face American Darren Elkins at UFC Rio 5, on October 25th.

This will be Lucas' second fight as a featherweight, following an appearance as a bantamweight and a drastic weight cut. The Motes Claros miner is coming off victories over Jeremy Larsen, Junior Hernandez and Alex White. In his career, the Brazilian has only one defeat and 15 wins, 14 of which were by knockout or submission. Darren Elkins, 30 years old, has a record of 17 wins and four losses. Elkins is coming off a loss to Jeremy Stephens in January this year.

UFC 179, or UFC Rio 5, takes place on October 25th, at Ginásio do Maracanãzinho. In the main fight of the night, the featherweight champion José Aldo puts his belt on the line in the rematch against the North American challenger Chad Mendes. In their first meeting, in 2012, Aldo won by technical knockout in the first round, in a fight also held in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). In the co-main event, the former light heavyweight title challenger Glover Teixeira face Phil Davis.
