Excited to fight in Mexico, Velasquez praises Werdum: 'He's a tough opponent'

Heavyweight champion comments on the Brazilian's style, but reiterates his desire to keep the belt

The third consecutive belt defense of Cain Velazquez it will be special for the heavyweight champion. The fighter will face Fabricio Werdum in Mexico City, the Mexican capital, counting on the support of the local public, since he, despite being North American, is the son of a Mexican father. In an interview with the “Bleacher Report” website, Velasquez highlighted the excitement for this fight in particular.

“I'm definitely excited for this fight. The support I've been receiving from fans has been great. That's the next step for me. I want to continue winning and remain in the position of champion”, said the heavyweight champion, who praised Werdum. “He is a tough opponent. He's a guy who already has a lot of experience, but he always improves. His jiu-jitsu is great and his hands are good too. It will be a good fight.”
