The push of José Aldo em Chad Mendes during a promotional event for UFC Rio 5 at Maracanã, it did not go down well with the organization's top brass. Reprimanded by President Dana White for what happened, the Brazilian responded in kind and said he didn't care about the leader's words. Aldo stated that he only focuses on his preparation and the advice from his coach and mentor Dedé Pederneiras.

“I honestly don't care about anything Dana White says. Everything he says doesn't matter to me at all. I don't care, I care about what André Pederneiras tells me, about what we have to train. I focus on that, so these statements don’t affect me”, said the man from Manaus, in an interview with the “AgFight” website. “He wants to sell fights, he wants us to attack each other like crazy, without thinking about the consequences”, he added.

PUBLICITY:

This is not the first time that the featherweight champion and his manager have been involved in a public clash. In May of this year, Aldo was very critical when commenting on White's statements about his way of fighting and the official UFC ranking. At the time, the Manauara man went so far as to say that “what he (Dana White) says cannot be written”. On October 25th, at the Maracanãzinho Gymnasium, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), José Aldo faces Chad Mendes in the main fight of UFC 179.
