Fights between teammates are always a big taboo in MMA and with TJ Dillashaw the story is no different. With friend and leader of Team Alpha Male Urijah faber As one of the main names in the bantamweight category, the division champion has already declared that he would like to have “a billion dollars” before thinking about fighting Faber. However, for President Dana White, the scenario is very different. In an interview, White assured that the pair would face each other if the belt was up for grabs.

“It’s no different from GSP and Rory McDonald (colleagues at Tristar Gym). You don't go around saying 'I want to fight him tomorrow and I want that belt' or anything like that. All these guys believe that they can beat the others deep down, since they train together. But when things get to that point, Faber would 100% fight him (Dillashaw) for a lot less than a billion dollars, and Dillashaw would also fight him”, said the manager at the press conference after UFC 177, last Saturday. (30).

Despite believing that the duel would take place without restrictions due to the partnership in the Californian academy, White considered that Faber still needs to beat one more opponent before positioning himself as a challenger for the title. “Faber has to be in a position to fight for the belt. He has to beat someone and put himself in that position first. If he does that, I promise you he will fight for the title. And I know TJ will fight too,” he assured him.

At 35, Urijah faber has a professional record of 30 wins and seven losses. The former WEC featherweight champion has already challenged for the UFC bantamweight title three times and ended up defeated Dominick Cruz e Renan Barao, twice. A curious fact is that all of Faber's career defeats were in fights for the belt. Already TJ Dillashaw, 28 years old, has a record of 11 wins and two losses. Dillashaw won the featherweight title in May this year and made his first defense last Saturday (30), when he beat Joe Soto at UFC 177.
