The Brazilian Renan Barao was left out of the long-awaited rematch against TJ Dillashaw at UFC 177, last night (30), after fainting during the weight cut a few hours before the official weigh-in, which took place on Friday (29). However, despite having lost consciousness during the dehydration process, the former bantamweight champion does not believe that losing weight will be extremely exhausting for him.

Renan, who heard from UFC president Dana White that he should leave the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg) for the featherweight division (up to 65,8 kg), guarantees that this is not his goal. In defense, the Brazilian cites his long career without problems with the scales.

“I had 35 fights cutting weight this way, it was always easy for me. I think the problem was that I got up too quickly, blacked out and fell. That was the problem. I cut around 10 kg,” said Barão, in an interview with the North American FOX Sports channel. “I was dehydrating in the bathtub. I passed out, hit my head and was taken to the hospital. I don’t remember anything that happened before or after: I only remember that I woke up in the hospital.”

Renan Barao guarantees that the entire court process was smooth and his absence in the rematch against TJ Dillashaw It happened because he hit his head when he fell. "I was fine. My weight was more or less the same as it always was. Everything was fine. Everything was fine all week. The whole problem is that I hit my head on the bathtub, and everything went down the drain”, he added.
