The fight between Gesias Cavalcante, two-time K-1 Hero's GP champion, and Japanese Shinya Aoki, former Pride fighter, has been highly anticipated by Japanese fans. The expectation is so great that the December magazine of Japanese magazine Kakutougi Tsushin dedicated 10 pages to the fight between the two, six pages for Aoki and four for the Brazilian. But, as reported by the Super Lutas website, Gesias had surgery on the meniscus in his left knee and unfortunately will not be able to participate in the show. “I operated on December 5th. Thank God everything went well and I should be back in February”, revealed Gesias.
