About to do the first main event of his career next Saturday (23), Rafael dos Anjos foresees that his fight against Ben henderson at UFC Fight Night 49 it will be an “MMA class”.
The Brazilian, who has six victories in his last seven fights, considers that the fight against the former lightweight champion will develop in all areas. “This fight will be a festival of fundamentals. We're definitely going to go to the ground, we're definitely going to trade heavily and clinch. It's going to be an MMA class. You can wait for that”, promised Dos Anjos, in an interview with the official UFC website.
Dos Anjos praised the North American's game and stated that he is alert in relation to his opponent's main weapons. “He is not number one in the lightweight rankings by chance, he was a former champion with many merits. He is versatile to the extreme, he has that way of fighting in rhythm, he explodes at just the right moments, and he is also familiar with five rounds. He knows how to manage his time, and always needs the initiative to develop the game. That’s where I have to stay alert and stop him,” he commented.
Due to Henderson's characteristics, the Brazilian highlighted the objectives of his training. “The lack of power is his big flaw, but that doesn’t make him any less dangerous, quite the opposite. It's very complicated to face guys who are strategic and keep control of their actions at all times. I think that timing and speed will be crucial in this challenge and that's what I focused on for a good part of the camp”, ended.
