With a duel scheduled against Nate marquardt at UFC-102, Demian Maia, only has eyes for the Ultimate belt. Considered by many as the biggest challenger to the title held by the Brazilian, Anderson Silva, the black belt is waiting for this opportunity and considers himself ready to compete for the desired belt.
“I see myself ready to fight for the belt. I would like to face Anderson, and I would give him the opportunity to knock me out and offer me the possibility of finishing the fight... That's what I hope. I'm not saying he's going to win, but I'm going to fight to finish the fight before the judges decide”, said Demian, who commented on when he will be able to fight for the belt.
“I was scheduled to fight for the belt in August, but due to Anderson's last performance, they wanted to put him on the main card as close as possible, so they offered me Nate (Maruartdt) so that the winner can compete for the title”, concluded Demian
