Another UFC event in 2014 had its main fight made official. In the biggest attraction of UFC Fight Night 53, the undefeated Gunnar Nelson will face the experienced Rick Story in a five-round fight, valid in the welterweight category (up to 77 kg). The event will be held on October 4th, in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
Nelson, 26 years old, is one of the biggest promises in the division at the moment. Since debuting in the UFC in 2012, the Icelander has achieved resounding victories over DaMarques Johnson, Jorge Santiago, Omari Akhmedov and, most recently, Zak Cummings. “I'm honored to fight in Sweden and headline this card. I hope the Swedish fans scream loudly. I believe I have a lot of fans there – they love my fighting style and, of course, I'm Scandinavian, so we have a good connection.”
A UFC veteran, working for the organization since 2009, Story will try to win his second consecutive victory, something he hasn't done since 2011. In his last fight, he submitted the Brazilian Leonardo Macarrão, in July.
