Originally cast to face Jon Jones at UFC 178, but cut from the event due to an injury during his preparation, the Swede Alexander Gustafson saw the light heavyweight champion come to blows with his replacement and new challenger Daniel Cormier – during a promotional event in Las Vegas (USA). Considered one of Jones' biggest rivals and currently ranked first in the light heavyweight rankings, Gustafsson spared no criticism of the duo for the confusion that took place last Monday (04).

"What can I say? I think this (the fight between Jones and Cormier) was childish at that point. We are all professionals and we must set an example and represent the sport in the best way possible. I just think it was ridiculous.”, said Gustafsson, in an interview with Swedish TV channel SVT Sport.

A duel against Jon Jones It's something I really want. Everyone knows, everyone wants to see this dispute. It was undoubtedly a setback”, he added.
