Currently ranked ninth in the official UFC rankings in the heavyweight category, Roy Nelson has drawn up ambitious plans for himself for the remainder of 2014. The North American, who will face Mark Hunt at UFC Fight Night 52, in September, he hopes to defeat the New Zealander and, thus, guarantee the opportunity to fight for the belt in his category.

According to Nelson, his plan would work even more satisfactorily if he can face Fabricio Werdum by the belt. The Brazilian, who will fight for the title against Cain Velazquez, in November, defeated Nelson in 2012, which would represent a rematch for the North American.

“In the UFC, everything is a matter of time. Werdum and Cain will face each other in November, and no one knows if Cain will get hurt again or if Werdum will win. If Werdum wins, I would love to do a rematch, with the fight lasting five rounds”, declared Nelson, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Junkie”.

“Big Country” praised his next opponent, Hunt, and looked forward to the fight. “I like Mark because he is an old school fighter. He comes to fight. These new guys? They like to hold on to points if they win hard. I like to know who will win. If you knock me out, then I'll know you're a better fighter. If you submit me, I know you're a better fighter. But if you win the judges' decision, that just means you touched my face more times,” he commented.
