Despite generating a lot of spotlight and certainly increasing the commercial value of the fight between Jon Jones e Daniel Cormier at UFC 178, the fight between the champion and the challenger during a promotional event in Las Vegas (USA) could have serious sporting implications for athletes. The Nevada Athletic Commission requested images of the confusion at the MGM Grand Casino & Hotel and may impose punishment on the pair for Monday's incident (04).

“We will have to fine Jones and Cormier if the Commission orders this. We are always ready to reinforce sanctions that aim to improve the behavior of our athletes”, said Kirk Hendrick, legal director of the UFC, on the organization's official website. “It certainly wasn’t a proud moment for us. We expect a little more education from our athletes, especially two gentlemen who are highly trained and have to be professional at all times. These actions violate our code of conduct,” he added.
