With a successful career in boxing, where he was champion in eight different categories and won no less than six world titles, Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao is preparing to expand his reach in the world of martial arts and also make history in MMA. Pacquiao acquired an undisclosed number of shares in the ONE FC event, the largest Asian organization today, and will also act as the tournament's promoter.

The information was released by the president of ONE FC Victor Cui, in an interview with the “Yahoo Sports” website. “I'm very excited, and I have a thousand reasons for that. Manny Pacquiao is a global sports icon, and having him as part of our organization as a shareholder and promoter is something huge for sports in the region. His arrival promotes his awareness and growth”, declared the leader.

At 35 years old, Manny Pacquiao is scheduled to face American boxer Chris Algieri on November 22, in Macau. But the Filipino is already starting to divide his time between boxing and his future plans, such as the recently revealed project to run for the Philippine Senate with the UNA party. As Victor Cui revealed, in an interview with the website “Bloody Elbow”, if Pacquiao's schedule allows, he will already participate in the press conference that will promote the ONE FC card in the Philippine capital Manila in December.
