MMA fighter stops robbery and arrests a thief in the USA

Mayura Dissayanake intervened during an attack by bandits at the gas station where she works, in Texas

His professional record of two wins and one loss, without participation in any significant event or record of any fight since 2012, makes fighter Mayura Dissayanake a very unlikely hero, thanks to his background in martial arts. But it was up to the athlete born in Sri Lanka and based in the United States to save the day after a robbery at the gas station where he works, in the city of Houston, in the state of Texas.

Another employee at the station, a colleague of Dissayanake, was returning from the bank when he was approached by two criminals, who intended to rob him while a third accomplice waited for them in a vehicle in the parking lot. Seeing the action, the fighter didn't think twice, left his work station and gave the duo a real beating. One of the assailants managed to escape, but the other continued to receive blows from Mayura until he was completely immobilized. With the athlete's help, the police ended up arresting Odell Mathis, 33, on charges of robbery with bodily injury.
