UFC negotiates fight between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano for December

UFC president Dana White revealed that he is close to closing a deal with Gina Carano to bring the fighter to Ultimate and put her straight into a title fight against Ronda Rousey.

White revealed, at a press conference, that he will meet with Carano in the coming days to try to sign the contract. “Next week we will have a meeting with Carano on Monday. We are very confident”, said the director, in an excerpt reproduced by the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

The intention is to pit Carano against Ronda Rousey still this year. “It would probably be in December”, clarified the UFC president.

Carano worked as an MMA professional between 2006 and 2009, achieving a record of seven wins and one loss, even beating former UFC fighters Julie Kedzie and Rosi Sexton. In her last fight, she lost to the Brazilian Chris Cyborg in the fight that was worth the inaugural Strikeforce featherweight title. In recent years, she has dedicated herself to her acting career.
