After scoring four consecutive victories at middleweight, Vitor belfort can return to the UFC and challenge the champion Anderson Silva. The information was confirmed by the organization's president, Dana White during the TUF-9 Finale.
“While Anderson struggles with Forrest griffin, I'm thinking of other names for the middleweight. Vitor belfort He's a former heavyweight who moved down to light heavyweight, and now fights at middleweight... He has quick hands, he's good on the ground and, if his mind is good, he could be a very dangerous guy. I think this would be a great fight,” said Dana.
Vitor has signed a contract with Affliction and faces the Brazilian Jorge santiago in the third edition of the show, on August 1st, in California.
