UFC president Dana White caused controversy a few months ago when he stated that his organization's bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, would beat renowned boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr in an MMA fight if they faced each other.
According to White, Mayweather, undefeated in boxing for 46 fights, would have no chance if he fought Ronda. “Not only would she defeat him, she would also hurt him. She would hurt him badly”, said the leader.
However, Mayweather, considered the highest paid sportsman in the world, appeared not to care much about the matter. In a video released by the North American website “Boxing Scene”, the fighter was asked about Rousey: “Actually, I don't know who he is,” he said, referring to the athlete as if she were a man. When clarified that she was the UFC champion, Mayweather insisted: “I don’t know who he is.”
Despite all the controversy, Ronda showed respect to Mayweather and stated that she even uses the American as inspiration. Before your fight against Alexis Davis, Rousey said aim to be dominant like Mayweather in your division.
