Ronda Rousey accomplished his task quickly at UFC 175, when he dispatched Alexis Davis in just 16 seconds to guarantee yet another title defense in the organization. Such ease led to the fighter being asked, in the middle of the Octagon, whether she would agree to do the main fight of UFC 176 at the last minute, on August 2nd. However, the champion indicated that she will need to spend some time away from activity.

In a press conference shortly after the event, Rousey declared that she intends to take some time off and have surgery on her right knee, something she had been putting off for some time. “I intend to have this surgery, which would be more of a maintenance operation”, explained the fighter, who says she has been suffering from the problem since the days when she competed in judo.
In addition, Rousey also left with an injury to her right hand, the result of an old problem she had been suffering from. “I developed a cyst on my wrist and was trying to ignore it, but it caused a cut on my hand with the first right hand I threw,” said Rousey, who received stitches after the fight.
After the fight, Ronda also expressed her greatest desire as an MMA fighter again. “I still have a lot to improve. I want to retire undefeated and be known as one of the best of all time, so that takes a lot of work,” she commented.
