Urijah faber validated the broad favoritism he had in his fight against Alex Caceres and achieved victory at the end of the preliminary card of UFC 175, held in the city of Las Vegas, in the United States.

However, those who expected a quiet victory for Faber were wrong. The “California Kid” sought a ground fight from start to finish, but Caceres managed to resist well and stifle the momentum of the second-placed bantamweight. Even standing up, “Bruce Leeroy” managed to land good blows, taking advantage of the great height and wingspan advantage he had over his rival.

In the third round, Faber decided to settle the bill. He managed to take the fight to the ground again, dominating the back soon after. Then, he landed a tight rear-naked choke, enough to make Caceres do all three taps.

The victory came at 3:50 of the third round, which marked the only finish on the UFC 175 preliminary card. Three Brazilians participated in the first fights of the night, but the balance was negative, with two losses and one victory.

The UFC debut of the former TUF Brasil 3 Guilherme Bomba It didn't go as planned for the Brazilian. Bomba was unable to impose himself in the game and was defeated by Luke Zachrich in a unanimous decision by the judges in the second fight of the night.

The fight was fought the entire time with striking. Over the three rounds, Zachrich showed more strength and connected more blows, including hand combinations and low kicks. Bomb tried to respond, but didn't have the same rhythm as Zachrich.

The Brazilian attempted to take the fight to the ground on a few occasions, being thwarted on all occasions by the North American. At the end of a heated fight, two of the judges gave the three rounds to Zachrich (30 x 27), while another scored two to one for the North American (29 x 28).

With this, the pupil of Chael Sonnen debuted in the UFC suffering the second defeat of his career, against three victories. Zachrich expanded his record to 13-3, leaving behind the defeat he suffered against the Brazilian Gaius Monster in April, in his UFC debut.

Carioca defeats Camozzi in a balanced fight

In the fourth fight of the night, Bruno Carioca achieved his first victory in the UFC by beating the experienced Chris Camozzi by the judges' decision. The fight, however, was not easy for the Brazilian, as the North American dominated the action in the first round by keeping the fight standing and working good strikes from distance, frustrating Carioca's takedown attempts.

From the second round onwards, however, the game changed. Carioca managed to land some good takedowns on Camozzi, and, on the ground, he worked his positions well – including two guard passes. The scenario was repeated in the third round until the end of the 15 minutes of action.

In scoring, two judges gave the Brazilian two rounds to one (29 x 28), while the third gave the victory to the North American. With the result, Carioca recovered from the defeat suffered by Krzysztof Jotko in his UFC debut, in Australia, achieving his first triumph in the organization. Camozzi, in turn, is in a delicate situation in Ultimate, as he suffered his third consecutive defeat.

Ildemar Marajó couldn't resist Kenny Robertson's wrestling game and left the UFC 175 preliminary card with a defeat. In an apathetic performance, the Brazilian suffered falls in the first two rounds and could do little to react, and in the third period, did not have the strength to achieve the upset.

Robertson dominated all the actions, and, on the ground, he even mounted and attempted some submissions with kimura and armbar. Marajó ended up in a dominant position, but was easily swept by the North American. All three judges scored all three rounds for Robertson, including a 10-8 in the second period.

Thus, Marajó suffered his second defeat in the UFC, against three victories. Robertson added his second triumph in a row, as he was coming off a victory over another Brazilian, Thiago Bodão.
