Next Saturday (5), Chris Weidman steps into the octagon set up at Mandalay Bay, in Las Vegas (USA), to defend his middleweight belt for the second time. A year ago, the North American was only the title challenger and listed as an underdog in the bookmakers, as he would face none other than Anderson Silva. But the “All American” went against expectations and shocked the MMA world by knocking out Spider in the second round. As a warm-up for UFC 175, in which he will face Lyoto MachidaSUPER FIGHTS recalls the historic duel between Weidman and Anderson.

The fight, held at UFC 162, started as usual when the Brazilian faced athletes based on wrestling, with Anderson being taken down and staying on bottom. When he managed to return to the fight on his feet, Anderson began to make use of one of his main resources: provoking his opponent. However, there was a massive public opinion that Silva exaggerated the volume of his jokes and, instead of destabilizing Weidman, ended up creating a situation that culminated in his own knockout.
