The UFC announced two more fights for Fight Night 49, which will be held on August 23 in the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma (United States). And both involve Brazilians who have already competed for the organization's belt.
Demian Maia will try for his second consecutive victory against fellow veteran Mike pyle. The Brazilian, who hit Alexander Yakovlev in May, he currently ranks eighth in the welterweight rankings, four ahead of Pyle, who defeated TJ Waldburger in February.
In the top category, in the middle class, Thales leites will seek to maintain his unbeaten record since returning to the UFC last year. After victories over Tom Watson, Ed Herman and Trevor Smith, the Nova União athlete will face Francis Carmont, who is three positions ahead of him in the rankings. The Frenchman comes from two consecutive defeats, to Ronaldo Jacare and CB Dollaway.
UFC Fight Night 49 would also feature Thiago Pitbull, but the Brazilian ssuffered a knee injury and was removed from the event. In the main fight of the night, Rafael dos Anjos faces former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson.
