Woirin also revealed that the athlete is looking to return to fighting at the end of the year. On May 24th, before the fight against Cormier, Henderson weighed three kilos less than the 93 kg limit for the light heavyweight category, which took a heavy toll on his performance in the fight. One of the main causes cited for the decline in the North American's physical performance was the sudden end of authorizations for the use of Testosterone Replacement Treatment (TRT), which he underwent.
At 43, Dan Henderson has a professional record of 30 wins and 12 losses. The veteran was champion of the up to 84 kg category of the now extinct PRIDE, at the time called “welterweight”, and therefore challenged Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight title, being defeated by the Brazilian via submission. In Strikeforce, another organization also acquired by Ultimate, Hendo also fought for the middleweight title, but was defeated again – this time by Jake Shields. Despite setbacks against Anderson and Shields, Henderson was also light heavyweight champion in both PRIDe and Strikeforce.
