Alexander Gustafson He has a tattoo on his right arm that represents all his fights in MMA. And the Swede posted on his account Facebook, the newest update of the cartoon, which now features its two most recent fights, against Jon Jones and Jimi Manuwa.
The design is made up of several triangles, each of which represents a fight he fought. The ones painted in black are the victories, 16 in total. The defeat for Phil Davis, in 2010, is represented with a hollow design, that is, without filling. However, the tattoo features a triangle that is half painted, half hollowed out: it is the fight against Jones, which took place in September of last year.
“In my opinion, I won the fight against Jon Jones, but not in the opinion of the judges. So, I only painted half of it”, explained Gustafsson, who made a promise regarding the rematch against Jones, which will take place in September. “The next tattoo will have a fully painted design when I win the belt. This time, I won’t leave it up to the judges,” he commented.
Tattoos of this type are nothing new in MMA. José Aldo, UFC featherweight champion, has a design on his shoulder in which each skull represents a defeated opponent. Something similar does the Dutch fighter Melvin Manhoef, who takes a risk on his body with each opponent he knocks out.
