UFC President Dana White believes that Wanderlei Silva will have a big problem ahead due to the controversy in which he was involved in a surprise drug test which he refused to do.

On May 24, a member of the Nevada Athletic Commission (NSAC) went to the fighter's gym in Las Vegas to collect blood and urine samples in preparation for the Brazilian's fight against Chael Sonnen, which would take place on July 5th.

Wanderlei, however, refused to provide the samples, as he was taking diuretics and anti-inflammatories due to a fractured wrist. This week, Wanderlei was able to attend the NSAC hearing to give your version of the case. A verdict will be given in a future session, the date of which has yet to be defined.

In an interview with the UFC website, White gave his opinion on the matter. According to the Ultimate boss, Wanderlei is not right in the episode. “I'm not the athletic commission, but I think he [Wanderlei] is very wrong. He will have a big problem. You can't run away from an exam. You can't do that, and it sets a very bad precedent. It would have been better if he had taken the test and tested positive than avoided the test. But I'm not a member of the commission. Maybe I'm wrong and he's right. Let’s see what happens”, said White.

The director, however, stated that he has no regrets about the Brazilian because of the episode. “He and I always got along well. However, avoiding the test is a very bad thing. Once this is resolved, me and him will be fine,” he stated.
